Why ISO 14001 ?

What is ISO 14001 ?
  • It is the International Organization for Standardization’s (Instituted in 1946 & Headquartered at Geneva) Initiative for Environment Management Systems (EMS).
  • It facilitates an organization to formulate and implement Policy and Objectives taking into account the legislative requirements and significant environmental impacts.
  • It enables an organization in identifying causes of environmental problems / concerns and their impacts.
  • It’s a systematic approach towards meeting your environmental & business goals.
  • It’s an evidence of the organizations efforts towards fulfilling their ethical responsibilities to the society and environment.

What is the certification process ?
  • Understanding requirements of ISO-14000 series.
  • Fulfilling all the PCB norms and complying with the consent conditions.
  • Identification of aspects which have an impact on the environment or are a concern.
  • Preparing plans and establishing controls for effective control of such aspects.
  • Implementation of the established EMS, internal auditing and continually improving the environmental performance.
  • Selecting an appropriate certifying body and undergoing the Certification process.
  • Normally it takes a minimum of 6 to 8 month’s time to prepare an organization to reach up to the certification stage.
 
What is certification ?
  • Certification is an independent third party confirmation that your organization’s EMS fulfills the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard.
  • The certificate is valid for a 3-year period and includes yearly surveillance audits.
